A New Habit- Pilates

Healthy habits are critical for well-being. I don’t know how many times I have said this before, but I guarantee you I’ll say it again. So in honor of my quarantine status, I thought it was the perfect time to implement a new routine.

Enter Pilates.

For ages I’ve been using the same 5-day yoga set. Literally, probably over 10 years. Taking time most mornings to stretch has been ingrained in my life now. Note— I say “most”, because while the bar may be perfection, we’re human and need to give ourselves grace. In my previous blog I discussed morning habits and the importance of consistency. Sometimes, however, it is okay and beneficial to change up our sub-habits.

For instance— maybe you read regularly but need to switch up where you read or what music you listen to while you read. In the same token, I was in desperate need of shaking up my morning stretching but hadn’t had the capacity for tweaking the routine.

A friend recommended The Balanced Life as a great way to get a core workout in at home. No time better than the quarantined-present. So far, I LOVE it!! (No this is not sponsored— I’m not there yet.) But I highly recommend this program. It’s great for adding in a short, but effective core building and strengthening regimen to your life. Many of the videos are 10-15 minutes, but you can feel it all day. Robin is positive and focused on small but effective movements to help support women’s health.
