What are your favorite morning habits?
I'm a big fan of living intentionally. I mean, there are days that take me for a ride; but most days, I prefer to be in charge. The thing is, the older we get, the more distractions we have thrown at us. Our pressures start adding up from every angle and pushing in. If we don't have a foundation, it's easy to crumble under the pressure. The following are simple little habits I have practiced over many years. Weekend routines vary a bit- but no matter where in the world I am, I find that keeping these things steady set me up for great days.

Stretch! I have been using the same five, 20-minute Yoga videos for literally the past 10+ years. I aspire to shake things up, but sometimes the consistency is where the habits are ingrained.
Coffee! Need I say more? I am typically a french press girl with a little cream and coconut sugar. Before my stretch, I start the hot water and prep the beans.
Read & Pray. Sometimes I just read the Proverbs of the day (there are 31- one for each day of the month). Other times I read through books or follow a study (Insert Lewis, Bonhoeffer…). Sometimes it’s just five minutes, other days I get 30. “Read your Bible, pray every day, and you’ll grow, grow, grow…”
Journal. Yep- that’s right. I have a tub full of journals dating back to when I was 10. It doesn’t matter what or how I write. It’s for me. For the past several years I’ve been using these journals, as they’re thin and high-quality paper.
Oh ya- I shower too. Did that need to be said?
